The bralette is not a new trend but is still very popular. It’s so fun and feminine, throw in some ankara print and you have a unique and colorful piece. But finding one that fits just right can be a mission so you either need to have a good tailor, or the patience to DIY.
What I love about this bralette is that it was so easy to make, absolutely no sewing required. I’m all about the simple stuff. I used some left over fabric from previous projects and basically wrapped it around a strapless bra. I started from the back and knotted it in the front, tucking the ends into the bra. You can get as creative as you want, just make sure you use a good bra so as to ensure that it’s secure. And tuck in the edges, making it look as neat as possible.
Bralettes can be a bit too sexy so it’s best to pair them with high waisted bottoms so that there isn’t too much flesh showing. I wanted to create a vibrant and colorful look so I went for a pair of white high waisted pants and a green blazer. A pair of metallic heels put the icing on the cake.
