Have you ever been so excited about something that you just can’t help yourself, you have to tell someone? Well, that’s me right now! I usually put up such posts on Mondays but I just couldn’t wait to share this look with you. Of late I find myself wearing a lot of black… maybe it’s the crappy weather we’re having in Nairobi at the moment. But I’m really enjoying putting together looks with the black pieces in my closet, there’s something about the color or should I say absence of color that just makes me feel more confident. Black is powerful, elegant and chic, slimming, it looks good on all skin tones and even better, goes with everything! But a full on black look can be a bit intimidating and plain boring. So here are the key things to keep in mind when creating such a look: play with fabrics and textures, pay attention to the fit of the pieces you intend to use and add bold accessories to jazz up your look.
For my outfit, I went for a pair of fitted pants, a loose crop top, a slightly big jacket and of course my knee high leather boots, just perfect for the rain. Now like I said, black can be a bit too much for the eyes thus intimidating so to soften up the look a bit, I wore a leopard print scarf as well as a long chain necklace and a hat in a neutral color. A bag with a dash of color completed my look.
