How’s your week going? Mine’s been very relaxing…still have another week before I go back to school. Today, I thought I’d do a post on African prints…well I was going to put it up yesterday but thanks to kplc, we had no power all day! Anyway no need to dwell.
African prints have become very popular in the fashion industry be it the ankara, dutch wax, kanga and all those beautiful fabrics out there. I really love all the color and tribal patterns printed on them…even the celebrities do. Both in Africa and internationally, many have been seen rocking the African print. It has become a trend that everybody is inc-operating into their ensembles. Here are two pieces I love for a casual day.
I absolutely love this skirt! Though it’s a bit big on my waist but nothing that can’t be easily fixed. I paired it with a black crop top and black booties…very simple but cute. I went minimal on accessories, only adding this printed necklace. Love the way everything came together…you could also pair it with sandal heels instead of the booties.
Here I went for a casual look. I paired the top with black pants and combat boots to add some edge. As for accessories, I went for African type earrings and a bangle that I got from maasai market. What do you think and which look do you prefer?
