Mixing and matching colors to create an outfit which stands out and doesn’t look like a disaster can be tricky. Today i thought i would do a short post on how to use the color wheel…i have come across it on many blogs and it has been quite helpful so i wanted to share it with you.
Mastering the color wheel isn’t too hard and i believe with a lot of practice, mixing colors gets easy. So basically, primary colors that is red, yellow and blue; colors which are opposite each other for example blue violet and orange yellow; next to each other like yellow and orange yellow or colors that form right angles like blue and violet red and though this colors usually look good together and are pleasing to the eye, a person’s skin tone, hair and eye color should be considered. On the other hand, neutral colors that is black, grey, white and brown can be mixed with just about any other color.
One of my style icons has got to be Solange knowles. I love the way she mixes colors. Here are some of her color blocking outfits.
Hope you enjoyed the post! Have fun mixing and matching.
